When a targeted word or phrase is spotted in a web site or gallery you are viewing in Internet Explorer, the spyware may open a pop-up advertisement.
Also, it can download and execute arbitrary unsigned code from its controlling server, as a self-updating feature.
You can protect yourself from spyware with softwares such as Spy Sweeper 2.1 , i found it a pretty good tool to combat annoying popups. Also, "Spyware/Adware Removal" and "SpyBot Search & Destroy". Look for it at http://www.download.com
searches your harddisk and registry for existing spying/advertisement robots. If they are found, it will to remove them.
Very helpful tool that is free of charge to use. I suggest to install and use both for better cleaning on your machine.
